There’s something unsettling about not knowing what’s next. We like plans. We like answers. We like to feel steady under our feet. But so often, faith doesn’t grow in certainty—it grows in the in-between.

When we are walking with God through trials, uncertainty can feel overwhelming. Trials have a way of stripping things down, reminding us how little control we actually have and how deeply we need to trust God in hard seasons. And yet, these difficult times are often where our faith grows the most.

It means we keep showing up—even when prayers feel repetitive and questions remain unanswered.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
— Proverbs 3:5

Trusting God in difficult times often looks less like confidence and more like surrender. It’s waking up and saying, “Lord, I don’t know how this will turn out, but I’m choosing to walk with You anyway.”

Gentle Truths Learned in Hard Seasons

Here are a few gentle truths learned while walking with God through hard seasons:

  • God doesn’t rush us through pain; He walks beside us through every trial.
  • Faith in uncertainty doesn’t mean God is absent—He is still working.
  • Christian encouragement reminds us that faith isn’t having all the answers; it’s trusting the One who does.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.”
— Psalm 23:4

The valleys are not signs that we’ve wandered off course. Often, they are part of the path God uses to deepen our trust and strengthen our faith during difficult times.

If you’re walking with God through trials right now, know this: God is not asking you to have everything figured out. He is simply asking you to keep walking—with Him—one step of faith at a time.

Scripture Reflection

Take a quiet moment to reflect on these verses:

  • Proverbs 3:5–6 — Where might God be inviting you to trust Him more fully during this season of uncertainty?
  • Psalm 23:4 — How does knowing God is with you bring comfort in your current trial?
  • Isaiah 41:10 — What fears can you surrender to God today?

Faith often grows in the quiet, uncertain moments—when answers haven’t come yet, but we keep showing up anyway.

If this reflection spoke to you, we’d love to hear from you.

What helps you keep walking with God during seasons of uncertainty?
