When Giving It All to God Feels Hard

I don’t know about you, but I like a good plan. A clear path. A sense of control that makes me feel like everything is going to be okay because I can manage it. But the longer I walk with God, the more I realize—those instincts are often the very things He invites me to release.

And surrender?

It’s beautiful… but it’s also messy, humbling, and sometimes downright uncomfortable.

There are days I feel ready to trust God with everything, and then there are days I find myself gripping the steering wheel of life so tightly that my knuckles could turn white. Maybe you’ve been there too.

The truth is:

We’re not designed to carry what only God can hold.

What Surrender Really Looks Like:

  • Choosing prayer over panic.
  • Releasing the outcome.
  • Letting go of the timeline.
  • Allowing weakness to be okay.

A Simple Prayer:

“Lord, I give You every piece I’ve been trying to hold together on my own. Help me trust Your hands more than my own strength.”

Surrender isn’t a one-time decision—it’s a daily invitation. And when we finally stop trying to be the one in control, we discover just how tenderly God steps in to guide what we cannot.

You don’t have to hold everything together.

He already does.
